About Nest-Egg Designs

Way back in 1992, one of the principals of Nest-Egg Designs, Michael Inguillo, decided that he would try his hand at becoming a freelance consultant. Leaving his job at a publishing company in Virginia Beach, Virginia, he packed up his bags and kissed his parents on the forehead and forged his way to the bright lights of the big city. With nary a dime in his pocket, he worked his way around and about the Washington, DC, scene; learning as much as possible about the Information Technology (brainiacs call this field by its initials “IT”) industry while maintaining a creative bent to his work. By 1994, he decided he would finally branch off from his regular job and start his own company: Puzzlehead Designs.

He ended up with egg on his face.

At the time, Michael didn’t realize the importance of the numerous means of design: online, media, exhibit, identity creation. As his initial foray into the business world fizzled, he met Angela Bryant. This savvy and plucky designer had an indepth understanding of the marketing end of the business. She would open his eyes to printing, presentation work, self-promotion and, ultimately, the power of brand recognition and merchandising. She was a breath of fresh air that invigorated his need to be creative. Meeting Angela was like a sign to Michael. He could only think of asking her that one big obvious question when two designers with a penchant for providing quality work meet:

Want to become superheroes?

After looking at Michael with a look of incredulousness, Angela came back with a better and much more realistic idea:

Want to start our own design business?

In the middle of 2001, Nest-Egg Designs was created out of necessity. As we developed numerous print and online materials on the side, we discovered that we would try our hand at starting our own company. The American dream and all, no?

So, we decided that our company would be a little different. We try to provide our customers with as much guidance as possible, walking them through the entire design process so that they are well informed and have their needs met. We take a special interest in our clients, informing them of potential pitfalls in their design choices, making sure that they work within their budget and also recommending a look and feel that best suits their needs.

It is this attention detail which allows us to provide our clients high quality work at very reasonable prices. By thinking of the small things, we are able to do big things. We have fun with what we do and we’re excited to have you as a potential customer.

So, don’t keep all your eggs in one basket. Take a look around at our site and contact us sometime. We’re easy to work with and we’d be more than happy to work with you to fulfill your print, presentation or online design needs. We’ll make sure we give you eggs-tra special attention!
